Fort Whyte Alive: Human. Nature.

Last night Corina and Jason took me out for delicious dining at Massawa, an Ethiopian restaurant where I had:
  • Sambusa (lentil-stuffed fried dough pocket)
  • Injera (flat, crepe-like bread)
  • 4 vegetarian dipping sides for the Injera
After this we walked through the Corydon area (where all the cool kids hang out) before heading back to the apartment.

Today, after much debate (due to my chronic indecisiveness)  Jason and I went to Fort Whyte Alive, a nature preserve just outside the city while Corina watched the sick kitty.  It was a free day!  Yay!

Bison!  and Bison Babies!!!  Little furry cows! (sort of)

Baby Prairie Dogs!

Lady's Slipper (Minnesota's State Flower)

Geese!

We also had a free wetlands tour, and the tour guide scooped some water out of the marsh to show how clean it was, then we pulled the plant life out of it, and saw numerous little creatures: side swimming shrimp, baby dragonflies, larvae...  Here is our bowl.  The water itself is very clear!
